On March 30th Pastor Mark made the BIG announcement that Christ Church would be partnering with a local non-profit to help furnish a home for sex-trafficking victims.

Feed My Sheep

Hartnell Farms is an exciting move towards using a generous gift by a longstanding and compassionate Methodist to see her farm used to feed the urban poor and glorify God. We (Mustard Tree Ministry, St. Andrews Center, Mercy Junction and First Baptist Church) are clearing, cleaning and tending to the first season of crops and need volunteers to help. 

Book Review Group

The next meeting of the Book Review Group will be Sat.,May. 3rd at 8 AM in the Adult Bldg., Room A-13. 


High School Youth Summer Mission Trip

This year our high school youth (Grades 9-12) are going to Lake Junaluska, NC for their annual mission trip.

Compost Workshop

Join us on Wednesday, April 23, from 6:00- 7:00pm  in M-5 for a Compost Workshop with Bud Hines. 

Run for God

Christ Church is starting a new ministry for children, youth and adults – Run for God  - is a couch to 5K ministry that incorporates Bible study, fellowship and small group training.

Care & Share Ministry

ImageThe Care & Share Ministry provides meals for families in our church that are going through a crisis and are not involved in a Sunday School class or small group.

Let’s Sing from Memory

Christ Church is starting a new ministry for those in our community with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers.  “Let’s Sing from Memory” will provide a time for fellowship and to share a fun time singing the old songs we all love and remember. 

Young Adults Group

Christ United Methodist Church is very blessed to have an active and energetic Young Adults Ministry. This ministry is geared towards 18-35 year olds.

Building Fund Update

East Ridge Cares 4 Kids

East Ridge Cares is starting soon!  ER Cares is an after-school mentoring, tutoring, and feeding program for children living in extended stay hotels.

Follow the Orphanage's Progress

We have created a blog to help keep everyone up to date on the progress of Grace Home, the orphanage being built in the South Sudan.

Christ's Chauffers

There are members of our congregation who have difficulty finding transportation to various medical appointments.  If you would be willing to be a part of our “Christ’s Chauffeurs” ministry, please contact Debbie Hafling at 718-0377.

 Three of our key church leaders recently created a video to update our congregation on how we are doing financially.

Fun-Day Sunday

Come join us on Sunday, April 27, for a very special day! We are doing it again – on the Sunday after Easter, we will have one huge worship service outside on our church lawn, followed by lunch, inflatable games, a petting zoo, pony rides, youth kick ball, and lots of fun for all. Worship music will start at 10:00 on the grassy area in front of the entrance to the new addition.

Sewing Hope

Join us Friday, May 2nd for an evening with Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe. "Sewing Hope" is the name of both a book and documentary (narrated by Forrest Whitaker) about this Ugandan nun who gives hope to young women formerly held captive by warlord Joseph Kony and the LRA.

Early Response Team Training

Christ United Methodist Church is hosting two separate training sessions for Holston Conference Disaster Early Response Team (ERT) Members. 

Service Saturday Success!

Christ Church members gathered together to perform acts of Service on our last Service Saturday.  We began the morning with fellowship and signing up for locations. 

Gardening for God

Our mission is to learn how to grow healthy fruits and vegetables, and give them to people who are in need of them. 

Pantry Pile-Up

Our Pantry Pile-Up item for April is juice boxes and snack packs for children. These items will go to Partnership’s domestic violence shelter.

Costa Rica Mission Trip 2014

Plans are well under way for the 2014 Costa Rica Mission Trip.  This year's team has 20 members, including 13 first timers.  The trip is scheduled for July 19-26.

Ladies Supper Club

The Ladies Supper Club will be meeting Tuesday, May 6th at 6:00 p.m. at Sticky Fingers at Hamilton Place.


Prayer Resources

Additional prayer resources are now available from the church website. They include guides to books, as well as online and audio tools for prayer. 

Room In The Inn Volunteers

Room In The Inn is a local shelter for women and their children who are in need of short-term food and lodging.  Christ Church provides the evening meal 3 times a month. 

Calling Hospitality Servants

Openings are available in the donut cutting and coffee ministries.  Donut ministry involves cutting and setting out donuts for two services; requires 1-2 hours about once per quarter.  

Baked Blessings

Baked Blessings, a ministry of Christ Church, is an opportunity for individuals or families to bake cookies or brownies for people who are homeless.
