One of our partners in the Mustard Tree Ministry, First Baptist Church, needs our help. They have established an emergency shelter to provide help to people who are homeless when the temperatures make it too dangerous for those who sleep outside.
Our Church family will once again celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with special Christmas Eve Candlelight Services. On Tuesday, December 24th. We will have services in the sanctuary at 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. that feature special music by the choir, instrumental ensemble, brass, Doug Richesin, and by the sharing of candlelight. The message will be given by Rev. Mark Flynn.

We just received word that the 40,026 meals we packed for the Stop Hunger Now event on Oct. 6th have been shipped!
Our pledges now total $1,441,518. This level of giving will pay off our building debt in nine and one half years at our current low interest rate and about twelve years at projected higher future interest rates. East Ridge Cares is starting soon! ER Cares is an after-school mentoring, tutoring, and feeding program for children living in extended stay hotels.

Lawrence Clark is retiring from his position this month as Minister of Pastoral Care for Christ Church. He has served in ministry for over 60 years and been a vital part of our church staff for several of those years.

The Costa Rica Mission Trip for 2014 has been set for July 19-26, 2014. The last three years the team has worked on new buildings at a church in Pocora, a small town northeast of San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica.

Room In The Inn is a local shelter for women and their children who are in need of short-term food and lodging. Christ Church provides the evening meal 3 times a month.
Openings are available in the donut cutting and coffee ministries. Donut ministry involves cutting and setting out donuts for two services; requires 1-2 hours about once per quarter.
Baked Blessings, a ministry of Christ Church, is an opportunity for individuals or families to bake cookies or brownies for people who are homeless.
