Hands-On Mission Project
We are participating in the 2013 Holston Annual Conference Hands-On Mission Project – Chattanooga District. We will be collecting items for food buckets to be sent to Liberia and Zimbabwe.
Stop Hunger Now a Huge Sucess!

Thank you to 150+ volunteers that helped package 25,002 meals for the Stop Hunger Now event. We are extremely grateful for your time and support of this project.
Calling Hospitality Servants
Openings are available in the donut cutting and coffee ministries. Donut ministry involves cutting and setting out donuts for two services; requires 1-2 hours about once per quarter.

South Sudan Child Sponsorships
As you are aware, the orphanage in South Sudan is well underway and going to drastically change the lives of many helpless children. Although the building itself will provide shelter for the children, it does not guarantee food, clean water, clothing, education or medical care.
Gardening for God
Our mission is to learn how to grow healthy fruits and vegetables, and give them to people who are in need of them. This ministry will have several benefits for you: quality family or friend time, meeting other church members, empower your family to grow their own food, and educate your family about healthy eating habits. Help by weeding, harvesting, or delivering the crops.
Golden Agers
Friday, September 14th, Christ UMC hosted the Golden Agers for lunch, music, and games. This group is an inner city club of women who have the Bethlehem Center as its hub.
East Ridge Cares 4 Kids
East Ridge Cares is an after-school mentoring, tutoring, and feeding program for children living in extended stay hotels.
Red Bird Mission Trip
Seven members of the Women of Worth Bible study group recently spent a few days at Red Bird Mission, a United Methodist sponsored mission in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky. They packed and loaded commodities and spent time at the Senior Center doing crafts.
South Sudan Mission
David and Becky Hall have just returned from a mission trip to South Sudan. They worked with our missionaries, Fred and Libby Dearing.
Mustard Tree Ministry
The Mustard Tree Ministry needs your help! CUMC will help make and serve meal to the homeless of Chattanooga on the 5th Thursday of the month.

A New Ministry For Orphans Organizing!
Katy Higgins, a member here at Christ Church, is leading an effort to construct a new ministry for orphaned children around the world. God calls christians to care for fatherless and orphaned children, to ease their suffering.
Fixit Team @ St. Andrews
The mission of the Fix-It team @ St Andrews group is to be a part of maintaining the St Andrews facility as a welcoming place that honors the heritage of faithful ministry, reflects the service and growth opportunities offered today and inspires a vision of faithful sharing as diverse neighbors –from all walks of life and all nations, come to learn, work and play together in community.
Christ's Chauffers
There are members of our congregation who have difficulty finding transportation to various medical appointments. If you would be willing to be a part of our “Christ’s Chauffeurs” ministry, please contact Debbie Hafling at 718-0377.
Elmcroft & TLC Ministries
Elmcroft Ministry reaches out to the residents at Elmcroft’s Alzheimer’s unit. Join us the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month for an afternoon of crafts with the residents. The group meets during the school year August - May at the church at 2:30 p.m. For more information, please call Norma Lane at 706/937-3025.
Our Tender Loving Care Ministry makes sure that all of our members/friends who are shut-ins or in nursing homes are visited regularly. We have many on our visitation list to see or call. St. Andrews Center Gleaning Project
Gleaning is the ancient, biblically-based practice of gathering those portions of the crop left behind after the harvest. (See the book of Ruth for a good example!)
Baked Blessings
Baked Blessings, a ministry of Christ Church, is an opportunity for individuals or families to bake cookies or brownies for the homeless.
ReSource Center
Please consider making a donation of clothing or household goods to The Bethlehem ReSource Center at 4413 Brainerd Road, next to the Brainerd UMC.
Green Team
The Christ Church Green Team began this fall with the goal of practicing environmental stewardship—and encouraging other Christians to do the same.
Prayer Shawls Ministry

Prayer Shawl Ministry is a way to share the gift of knitting or crocheting with those who are in need of comforting. The group meets the third Thursday of the month in the Adult Building, A-2. For more information, contact Linda Anderson at 892-4323.
Clothes Closet
Did you know Christ Church has a clothes closet? We have a wonderful ministry in which we give away clothing to all that have needs. If you know of folks who need clothing, please refer them here on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am - 12 noon.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga strives to make a difference in the lives of children through professionally supported one-to-one relationships. ‘Bigs’ are matched with ‘Littles’ in their community and spend 4-8 hours per month doing various activities in the community.
Fixit Ministry
The Fixit Ministry, sponsored by Men United, is designed to connect men with basic "fixit" skills with members of our church and community that have "fixit" needs. These skills include basic, non building permit type home repair. If you are an individual with physical limitations with a "fixit" need or know someone who does, please sign up as a Fix It volunteer click here to fill out a volunteer form online.
Home Delivered Meals
Care & Share Ministry is a small group ministry to help church families during times of need. The purpose of Care & Share is to provide meals for families.
Volunteers in Medicine
Volunteers in Medicine Clinic is a non-profit clinic that serves the working poor in the Chattanooga area. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities at the clinic, both for those with medical and non-medical backgrounds. For more information, call Sonia Wrate at 855-8220.
