Last year we gave our congregation the opportunity to give Christmas gifts by making donations/purchasing gifts supporting charities and ministries.  This year The Gift Market will be held on Sunday, October 24.  If you are aware of an organization we should invite and are willing to be a liason to that group for the event, please come to an organizational meeting in Rev.  Believe it or not in a few short weeks it will be time for our kids to go back to school!  A new school year means a new church year beginning August 1st! A new church year means a new volunteer force!

Fresh 2 Order Restaurant on Gunbarrel Road donates 15% of their receipts to Christ Church missions every Thursday of each month. All you have to do is turn in your receipt to them at that time.

Prayer Shawl Ministry is a way to share the gift of knitting or crocheting with those who are in need of comforting. The group meets the third Thursday of the month in the Adult Building, A-2.  For more information, contact Linda Anderson at 892-4323.

The mission of the Fix-It team @ St Andrews group is to be a part of maintaining the St Andrews facility as a welcoming place that honors the heritage of faithful ministry, reflects the service and growth opportunities offered today and inspires a vision of faithful sharing as diverse neighbors –from all walks of life and all nations, come to learn, work and play together in community.

Elmcroft Ministry reaches out to the residents at Elmcroft’s Alzheimer’s unit.  Join us the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month for an afternoon of crafts with the residents.  The group meets during the school year August - May at the church at 2:30 p.m.   For more information, please call Norma Lane at 706/937-3025.
TLC volunteers visit homebound and nursing home residents who could use a cheery hello or quick visit from a friendly face.  If you would like to volunteer, please call Orville Biddle at 510-1534.

Care & Share Ministry is a small group ministry to help church families during times of need.  The purpose of Care & Share is to provide meals for families.  Volunteers are contacted about once every three months to prepare a meal for a church family.  If you are interested in volunteering call Norma Lane at 706/937-3025.

There are lots of ways that people can serve others at Christ Church.  From Ushering to driving the handicapped accessible van, we can find the perfect volunteer opportunity for you.

Did you know skipping lunch one day could save a child's life?  The United Methodist Church, the NBA, and Sports Illustrated have teamed up to fight malaria, a disease that kills one child in Africa every 30 seconds. 

Beginning on September 8, join a small group of church members and friend on Wednesday evenings at 7:15 in the adult building, room A-8, for a discussion of "Resident Aliens: Life In The Christian Colony." 

“United Methodism 101” (UM101) is a free, basic online course designed for new United Methodists and anyone wanting to know more about the denomination, as well as long-time United Methodists who would like to check their basic knowledge of the church.  Click here for more information and/or to sign up for this on this online course.

A new study Bible is now available through Abingdon Press that has really wonderful study helps written from the Wesleyan perspective.  The "Wesley Study Bible" includes articles and footnotes written by some of the best theologians alive today.  Their insights are based on the teachings of  John Wesley, founder of United Methodism and one of the greatest practical Christian theologians ever.
